was greasing the props on my landy after a short trip to the farm and noticed a very large puddle under it, so i had a closer look and smelt diesel and there is diesel all over the inside of the engine bay on the drivers side and diesel dripping from the injection pump. checked all the pipes attached to it and they are fine looks like its coming out of the top of the pump some where

Hi,
Had the same experience last week.
It's more than likely the fuel pressure regulator just behind the engine block on the drivers side.
Seems to be a common problem.
If you search "landyzone" you'll find some more information.

Might help if yeh tell us what lump it's got in it???

If it is anything like the injector pump on my 2.5td it will be leaking from under the throttle spring. There is a bush there which will wear and as diesel starts to leak past it will get progressivley worse. Assuming it is the same problem as mine was, the parts are no longer availble for them which means a complete new top half of the injector, around £260 + vat. I just put up with mine for a while but started feeling a bit guilty when it rained and the road outside my house turned every colour of the rainbow. In the end i found a guy who was breaking an engine and i gave him £20 for the whole injector pump (SCORE!!!). Next challenge was finding a garage who would fit a second hand injector pump. None of them wanted anything to do with it! In the end i got Wicken 4X4 to do it for me but it was not a cheap thing to fix. I am not an expert but this is exactly the problem i had:(

It could be the copper o ring that sits at the base of the injector body or even the return pipe that sits at the top, or even the banjo bolt that the solid fuel pipe screws on with could be a tad loose.

its coming from the injector i think or one of the pipes that links all the injectors together. what would i need to replace the whole injector?

thanks
