diesel injectors

Hi guys.my freelander 2003 2l td4 was making a strange noise then I took it to a mechanic.He said he tested the injectors and he said all 4 are gone.My question is can all 4 go at the same time and can they be reconditioned.Thanx guys.Thor1950

How many miles, how often has fuel filter been changed, do you use cheap diesel or brand name like shell, BP?
