P38A Diesel in sump

I have just taken my RR in to have some problems fix and they bhad to drain the sump oil and when they did they phoned me up and told me there was diesel in the oil and suggested that the cause of it was faulty injectors. The oil and filter was drained and renewed about 300 miles ago and i dont have a problem with fuel consumption or any black smoke. I have my own ideas about how it could get into the sump and contaminate the oil but I would like to hear your opinions on this matter.

Not familiar with that particular diesel as fitted to the RR, but does it have a mechanical lift pump for the fuel, sometimes the diaphram can split or get a small hole allowing fuel to leak into the sump. Another source could be a leaking seal in the front end of the Fuel Injection Pump into timing cover.
If the injectors were leaking or faulty, I would expect you to notice a drop in performance and/or difficulty starting.

E34 525tds (same engine) lives 5 doors along from me and he had the same diesel in the sump was a pump seal according to him he said he got it sent away and sorted.

This particular engine BMW M51 does not have a mechanical lift pump but an in tank pump and a pump in the FIP so that is not an option thank you for your input.

Like I said, not at all familiar with that diesel, they were never imported into our country, just the petrol versions, but I think @stustrong could be onto something, a FIP seal would be the most obvious thing, not sure how to confirm it though without a fair bit of work to remove the timing chest cover and the pump, you'd need an experienced opinion.
Wouldn't like to see you spend a lot of money on injectors only to find you still have the problem at the next oil change.
