Diesel fuel injection pump, 300 series.

Hi, new member here. I've got a 1994 Disco 1 300 series 2.5 Tdi, the car starts and drives, then when it's warm the engine will not rev, it idles, but won't rev! The fuel injection pump makes a, very fast rattle, noise. a bit like badly ajusted tappets, but faster. Can I fix it or is it to be replaced? Thank you for your imput.

have you checked the shut off valve in the pump is working properly coz if its faulty it might only be letting a bit of diesel through! this is only a suggestion tho!

but that woundt account for the rattle, sounds like the IP needs a refurb
