I have found a leak I think...
Everything was clean and leak free.
So far i had the front prop cv nearly fail same time when my pal moved the motor for me the injector light flashed and he lost throttle.

Injector no4 was wet at the base return lines had failed all new return lines fitted.

No light again until now about 200-250 miles later 3times in 8miles iv had to let off and back on to get power.

Twice changing gear and once in 2nd slowing for a roundabout light on and no power till I put on and let off then back on the throttle

Pop the bonnet and notice the fip pump is damp as pictured.

Are these two top seals changable without wrecking anything?
Motors on 175k so average milage

Put some good diag on it and you are almost certain to get quantity control servo fault. Seals are changeable if you know what you are doing but quite fiddly to reset pump up. Think you may need a new one.

Il be able to get it plugged in after mot.
If its a fip problem would another out of a range rover run after being timed up.
Theres a number to match isnt there?

Yes part number must match yours. That should be 0460406994. You will need a few special tools to remove refit and time the pump.

The seals cost about £16. However, after doing mine it became obvious the pump was on its last legs anyway so I just wasted my time. Like so many things these days they're very well engineered to last a certain amount of time and then after that everything seems to fail at once.

I think for cost il grab a couple 2nd hand pumps at the weekend and take my chances.

Set my vw transporters up with dti gauges and did both end and top seals on that so keen handed for that.
