Hi guys.

Do you think it would be worth fitting a different type of diesel filter to the type with the water bowl on the bottom.

I have seen this type on a lot of plant machines and think it would be a good upgrade.

Have you fitted one?

Works fine for boats, which usually have a small tap to drain off the water.

Personally you are better of with a sedimenter at the rear then the main filter at the front,
I accidentally put a full can of radiator sealant into my fuel tank :( Both the injection cleaner and radiator sealer where in purple bottles and I was in a rush:oops: The Sedimenter collected every drop, when I replaced the fuel filter
I cut it open and except for some minor debris it was clean as a whistle,

I think you’d probably be fine using a normal filter and once in a while opening the tap at the bottom and draining out any water - something most of us forget to do anyhow.

Fitted one (same as your pic) to our old boat to separate water from the fuel, worked well you could see it seperating the water from the fuel.
But and there is always a but the filter in the top bit Iirc does not filter that well, ie it is a pretty crude device.

Std tdi filters already have a water trap fitted.
