How To Change The Oil In Your Car (Cars: Routine Maintenance For Cars) ........couldnt resist it, stole it off slobs post 
I think i know how to change the oil..!!! just wondering about the oil itself! There seems to be some debate about semi synthetic vs Fully synthetic. Not sure if it is worth splashing out loads for a high quality oil as most of it will end up on the driveway or be dumped in 6000 miles.

Sorry Canyon but you was an open goal, for the post i'd seen two minuits earlyer.... I recon it depends on the size of your leak and the size of your wallet, they recon synthetic is best , but most of the older designed l/r bmw engines will take almost anything. If you look in the front of the RAVE CD it says whats recomended for any given temp, but personaly I check my wallet on the day and buy the best I can afford!

Our local main dealer (benelux) uses a full synthetic Castrol 5-40 (every 2nd oil chg ever 20,00kms)
for the interim oil changed i use a valvoline full synthetic 5-40 (every 10,000 kms interim change)
