Hi All
I am purchasing a defender 110 1985 ( ex mod) 200 tdi fitted recently (diesel)
I live in west london and am concerned about emissions.
Any charges and boundaries
That may affect me
Any advice would be greatly appreciated as thus far it's been totally conflicting

Hi Matt

welcome to the looneyzone,

Have you checked the VRM in the LEZ compliance checker. Only way to know for sure, as there are a few anomalies for this issue.

Cheers

Does it make any difference if
My vehicle is used for private purposes
Matt

Basically, if it has not been listed as acceptable on the LEZ, then you will have to try and prove it should have been.

I have heard of people able to prove the vehicle should have been listed iirc as an estate car, ( so would be acceptable to LEZ) on supply from the factory and was wrongly identified on the V5 , but as they were supplied as a CSW from the factory. They managed to get them re classed on the V5, I am not sure how an Ex MOD fares on this.

You could be in for a hard slog unfortunately. I thought there was a link on the website if you thought your vehicle was wrongly non LEZ compliant.

If you do a search on here for LEZ you will find more info.

Good luck

Cheers

Do you happen to know if it makes a difference if it is used for private use as opposed to business use

I may be wrong,

But AFAIK, it comes down to the vehicle not the usage unless maybe you could claim it is a London Taxi........:D:D

Cheers
