diesel additives

hello,
i recently blanked the egr and cleaned out what i could of the gue it left behind, i was wondering what additive to use to mix when you fill up to give the inlet and the injectors a bit of a wash out. or are they more in the mind money wasters like the e-bay £3 super chip or them whirly-gig things that you jam in the filter box?

only get salt + vin with the real thing, the cheap one aint even made with real spuds!!!!!!
