Hello again, Could anybody tell me if the Discovery 2,5 TD5, MY 2000 is EOBD compliant? I want to purchase a diagnostic tool to use it myself(I had too much trouble with all kind of "specialists") and I don't know which modell to choose. The "faultmate sv" seems to be the best but it's a bit expensive for me. I also considered to buy an interface and the PCMSCAN soft for notebook (enhanced LR) but they said that my modell of vehicle is not EOBD compliant so it will not comunicate with the tool. I accept any suggestions for what kind of equipment must I use and spend less if possible( the "faultmate sv" is about 1000 euro). Untill now I spent almost 1500 euro to repair an ACE problem at several services, and it still persists. All the best from Transylvania:)

I think EOBD is from 2001 onwards but might not communicate with ace system. Our diagnostic tool doesn't list any coverage for the 10P engine code 98-00 but does list coverage for the later engine.

have a look at these chaps as they specialise in LR diagnostics

Diagnos - Land Rover Diagnostics

That's the problem, they are affirming that it covers the Disco II but The tool is equipped only with an OBD connector. (unfortunately my Discovery has other kind of DLC - it seems is not EOBD compliant)

What about these guys Diagnos - Land Rover Diagnostics might be a bit expensive but it wont hurt to get a price, for **** sake don't tell your wife. I dont think the nanocom will talk to the ACE system pal, looks like it only talks to engine and ABS system to me.

OK pal, the "Autologic" was my first choice, I didn't mention that to you and yes that's the best tool for L.R. I ever saw. Believe me, it's way to much for a "down in the mouth" like me ho want just to fix his own car. E.g. the tool enhanced for L.R. is almost 9000(nine thousand)euro + insurance+all kind of fees.

After many searches now I have to choose between the FAULTMATE SV (1000euro) and the DEC SUPERSCAN II(2000euro). The first is cheaper but covers just one vehicle(as they say very good), the second one covers all L.R. modells(including ACE and BCU) between '95 and '05(upgradeble for extra fee). I'm still thinkin' because with de DEC after I learn how to use it I could collect my money diagnosing other cars because(and that's why I'm desperate) the first L.R. licensed and equipped with testbook service is 500 km far from my city.

All the best from Transylvania
