Went to see a Landrover independent today to get my diesel pump sorted so I can chuck my cold start device away.

Really nice guy, he plugged his Auto logic in, and only fault it flashed up was engine immobiliser fault, he actually was using it to check the pump. Interesting as my Hawkeye flags up Crank Speed Sensor, whereas his didn't. Said as I suspected, the sensor is fine.

Is there a way to test the immobiliser?

Maybe lock with fob button, open door with key without pressing fob, then try start:confused: just an idea but why bother if it normally starts:rolleyes:

I've seen that fault from time to time after cranking, maybe nothing to worry about.
Cold Start device? Surely you me a hot start fix??

Would be interesting to see what a Nonocom finds. Was he checking timing modulation?

Sorry to techy for me, he was reading something and just said he would do that diesel pump thing so I could remove hot start device. All the Landy guys round my area use him, so assume he knows what he's doing. Gave me a good vibe.

He would be checking the timing modulation. Should be around 45% to 55%, if it's higher static pump timing is retarded. That would contribute to bad hot starts. :)

Alarm Fault is back today, seems to arm OK! Not sure what is triggering the fault. I swopped the internal movement sensors over, but still pops up!

hey, leak under drivers kick panel seems to have got a lot better but now I am back to a damp sun visor again! I think I will need to remove the roof rack rails and windscreen trim, and look for the tiny hole that people keep saying causes such a leak.

Cheers guys, will have a look..........it goes in on Friday for the Diesel pump adjustment, so I can throw my Hot Start Device away.......
