For all that have the 'Device Error' issue here is the fix;
Download (if you don't have it already) Apple Music onto your phone.
Download any free/paid for song through the app.
Now when you plug in the iPhone the Land Rover software will start playing via Apple Music.
You can now continue to play through Apple Music or open Spotify etc to play your music.
