yeah if you can get it. suppose my local chippy wouldnt mind me taking some of thiers, save them paying someone to take it away.

Or the local kebab shop, chinese takeaway, schools, old folks homes, burger bars, pubs, restaurants, hotels.......etc, they all use it.
Just make sure it isn't palm oil as that sets solid at about 5 degrees C.

The stuff I get is either sunflower or rapeseed as I know the people I get it from and what they use.

Iv got 120 ltrs waste veg oil wich i get for 10p a litre from the local sarny van, but I think I'm gonna turn it into bio diesel....bit of a faf like but recon its better for the engine long term!

I have been making biodiesel for about five years now with thousands of miles covered in various cars but I did run for about a year on veg oil first.
I would say that as the TDis are direct injection you should not go more than about 75% veg oil even in the summer as direct injection engines can suffer from ring gumming and glazed bores due to un-burnt fuel when cold. Adding up to 10% unleaded is a good way to keep your fuel liquid but will reduce your mpg and power as it reduces the cetane number of the fuel so I go to 5% at most in my biodiesel.
Personally at this time of year I would stick to about half and half diesel and veg oil with maybe 5% unleaded added. It is a good idea to stick some of your fuel mix in a jar and leave it outside to give you an early warning of when your fuel is going to gel up so you can add more diesel if you see signs of solids in the jar.
Making biodiesel is the best option as you can run 100% bio in almost any engine all year round but dose require a bit of work to build a good processor and get your process spot on. Biodiesel is thinner than veg oil and although it can still gel up in cold temperatures it will stay liquid at a lot colder temperatures than the oil it is made from. You can also use additives to reduce the temperature at which it gels even further.
If you are going to make biodiesel please do your research first as it can be very dangerous and could cause serious damage to your car if you get things wrong. There is a lot of bad information on the internet but Biopowered wiki and Vegetable oil diesel forums can be trusted and are highly recommended.

cant really tell unless they are chemically testing it as well, its colourless
kerro has a chemical marker in it so it will be found if you are diped.
Meth's or to give it its proper title methanol dose not mix with vegeatble oil so i would not try that.
if they suspect you are running turps or white spirit or waste motor oil they will send the sample away and you will be fined, back taxed and may loose the car.
do some research on the site mentioned by ian above.

From what i have read, then its ok to just add oil to Derv with a splash of petrol, without any Mods. or run Bio derv, does this mean any Mods I have a 2.5tdi 93 Disco will I need to do anything. or can I just fill her up?

no mods, just do it but read some info on it from the above mentioned sites first.
