hi all.

I’m after some advice/opinions.

I’m looking at changing my seats in my s2a.

I am 6ft2, so space is a premium.

I’ve looked at the deluxe seats which look quite nice, but has anyone had the ones with the added extra of the headrest...is it worth it?
I’ve seen a few people go for the rx8 seats, but I think the bottoms may just be too tall.

All help and advice greatly received.

I have the delux seats in my series 3 but not the headrest ones, I find them comfortable and I'm 6ft 3. The limiting factor is the seat base, I wish the seats were a bit lower cos my eyeline is above the top of the screen so I can't see the traffic ligh when I'm waiting at red. Modern seats would look out of place in a series unless there were lots of other mods in which case it wouldn't look much like a series anymore.

I read you post thinking deluxe seats sounds good, might get some them. Now I looked up some pictures I realise I already have deluxe seats. It is a bit of a push to describe them like that.

Its like the "de-lux" bonnet, its not clear what bit is luxurious. I have a mix, a "delux" drivers seat base and the rest standard, but I'm not sure there's much differnce. I added head rests to the mid and passenger seat backs which is an improvment. Putting some metal reinforcement under the drivers seat base to stiffen it up helped, mine looks like MDF and it sagged out of shape. My next plan is to put firmer foam in the seat base, I think ts squashing down too much and not doing its job. If you are tall one option could be to put thinner firmer foam in.

Thinner foam for the win, i'm 6"4 and find the series almost un driveable coz i is proportioned weird ;)

A mate has a 88" with thinner bases etc and it's better!

I have the headrest deluxe seats in my S3 - Not entirely convinced they would stop severe whiplash from a rear shunt but they make me feel better that there is a chance of them doing something. Quite comfy - at 6' they work for me but with the thicker back I removed the rubber door stops from the rear bulkhead.

Ive got the exmoor trim hi backs in my 88", more expensive than the other deluxe high backs but they are excellent. My brother has just fitted a set of britpart deluxe high backs in his ninety and they seem pretty good for the price, only fault or rather annoyance with them is the non-adjustable head rest for height, my exmoor ones have like a normal car head rest which you can move up and down
