I have a 110 3.5 V8, which although it drives perfectly most of the time every couple of days it splutters to a hault and then won't run. It ticks over fine but when you try and pull off it's like it has run out of petrol (but it never has less than half a tank in it).

After a few minutes of sitting there it drives normally again. I have replaced the fuel pipe with a clear one so next time it plays up I can see if fuel is pumping through.

Anybody got any ideas what could be causing the problem, fuel pumps seem to be pretty expensive and I don't want to replace it if I'm not sure that is the problem.

Cheers

When was the last time it had a fuel filter? V8's like to have regular filter changes. (They draw an awful lot of rust in from the fuel tank).

Not sure but not in the six months I ahve owned it? Where do I find the filter?
Thanks Daz

I think it was on the chassis under the front drivers seating position on my V8. It should be a small red pot with a bolt holding it together. Be sure to remove the old seals and replace them with the new ones when fitting the new filter (they come with the filter).
