Hi, I purchased my 1999 TD5 Defender (90) this year as a commercial van and have been renovating throughout the year. It drives very well for the age but I’d like to gain some more speed and power! Can anyone give me advice on a good remap (stage 2) and what actually needs to be done. Is it really as simple as sending the ECU off (alive tuning) and having it programmed? I’ve already upgraded the inter cooler and hoses and have done an EGR blank. Are any mod needed to be done to the turbo boost?

Prettt much yeah. Few options if dealing with Empire Tuning.

Chat with them and find a local agent
Go direct to Empire (Essex)
Send the ECU to Empire, usually a 24 - 48 hour turn around. If it arrives Monday morning you should have it back Tuesday afternoon.

As for turbo it would need a bit of setting up adjusting the boost but thats very simple and easy to do.
