My TD5 2002 Defender has started to make a noise just like the sound of a seal (animal). It doesnt do it all the time but started last week and I cant seem to find where it is coming from. Sometimes it does it when i steer to the right...... but it can also make the same noise when driving straight too.
I also noticed on one or two occasions that as you pick up speed the seal sound occurs quicker then after you reach 35mph it stops.
Very strange... Engine is fine, gearbox fine, powersteering seems fine too.
If anyone has heard of this happening before or got any ideas of what to check then hearing from them would be great!
The banter from the other engineering students when I leave the college car park with the occasional squeak coming from the landy is growing each day... so need to fix it haha. Thanks
