Hi all. Hope you’re all keeping well.
I have a couple of quick questions.
I know MAF has been covered loads of times but I’m still not sure if mine is kaput.
Using nanocom, at idle it’s reading minimum 63 but closer to 67 most of the time. Which I understand is high - should be 55ish?
Flat out up hill at 2,850 rpm with the engine working hard, it’s barely getting over 500. It should be 550+? All the readings I’ve done it’s never got close to 550.
Can they read high AND low?
Anyway - It’s had a mild remap - nothing silly (Mike at Dynachip - well known). But as I understand the MAF, it’s simply reading airflow so shouldn’t be affected by the remap? The ECU would control the fuelling and if the MAF is reading low, the ECU would under fuel? It definitely seems to run out of steam - feels like there is more to give. It’s pretty lively low/middle range but definitely runs out of breath.
So getting to the actual question - If it’s not the remap - is the MAF shot?
Second question. Genuine LR part (£160). Or is an £80 Siemens still good?
Thanks!
