Afternoon all,

I was wondering if anyone would be able to tell me which way round the wires should go on the transfer box high / low switch.

For some reason the connector block has been cut out of mine so I have a black and a red from the loom and a green and green / yellow from the switch. Trying to work out which way round they go!

It's a simple 2-pin switch. So one of the wires will be ground, and the other is the switch input to the ECU. It doesn't matter which way round they go.
 
Usually it changes the pedal map and a couple of other things when you're in low range. Can't remember which way round it works, but if it's closed in high range, then by disconnecting it you're making the ECU run constantly on the low range maps. Worth investigating what's causing the problem rather than calling it fixed.

Pete, I should have been clearer, I wasn’t saying disconnecting it had fixed it but has shown me what was causing my lumpy running issues. It at least narrows it down for me! The wires have had the connector block removed (no idea why) and the bare wires had been twisted and shoved on top of the transfer box so I imagine it was earthing intermittently and flicking back and forth between the 2 lots of settings.

I’ll work out which way round it goes and fit a new connector block.

Best to get a proper sealed connector to avoid future electrical issues due to water ingress/corrosion. Econoseal connectors work well enough and are fairly cheap.
 
Have done it this morning with a proper sealed connector.

At last it’s running properly (revs drop in the lower ratio and everything!). Bloody Land Rovers! If I didn’t love it so much I’d scrap it!

Not LRs fault, it was the previous bodgers fault!
 
I've a Disco transfer box in my 110 and it didn't have the plug, it does kangaroo a bit in slow town traffic but it all but disappears when i join the wires at the plug as the map/throttle response is greatly reduced, i think i might fit a simple to flick between settings for town driving??
