Morning Chaps,

Looking to replace my suspension with Terrafirma Medium Load as I cant stand the HD springs for too much longer and a few of the bushes are starting to perish.

While doing it I would ideally like to replace every nut and bolt related to the set up. Anyone know what I need? I did google but didnt find anything too conclusive. While im at it is there anything else thats worth replaceing?

Was going to replace the turret rings and possibly the turrets for the tubular style.

Thanks.

If you take a look at http://www.yrm-metal-solutions.co.uk/ they sell stainless steel bolt kits. For each kit they have for sale they list all the components for the kit so even if you don't want the expense of stainless steel you can still work out all the correct nuts and bolts you would need.

Personally, I decided to purchase a complete set of stainless steel for my rebuild. People will warn you that stainless is not as strong as mild steel, however the bolts sold on yrm-metal-solutions are A4-80 stainless which has the same tensile strength as the 8.8 mild steel you will be replacing.

Here's me doing pretty much the same thing over a couple of weekends in the autumn of 2013 https://www.landyzone.co.uk/land-rover/springs-and-things.239690/page-1
I have a Land Rover parts catalogue so I ordered a lot of the nuts and bolts by part number. The exceptions were the bolts holding the rear radius arm bushes to the chassis, the Panhard rod, and the front radius arms to the axle where I found some suitably tough stainless equivalents. New nuts for the ends of the radius arms are a good idea too, because they're typically so rusty they're a bit of a struggle to undo and they get a bit the worse for wear. Lots of grease on assembly so things might actually come undone again should I need to.

Copperslip on reassembly. Grease dries up after a few years.:)

Some suspension bolts are 10.9 graded, so be careful with stainless.

Personally I don't find HT steel ones a problem, copperslip them as above.
