Hi guys,
Currently still hunting for my 1st Defender, been trawling the usual ebay/AT/Gumtree.
Im just checking if anyone has had any dealings with the following garages as they have a lot of defenders for sale and class themselves as defender specialists;

https://www.tandtmotors.co.uk/used-cars -
https://www.pennineautosltd.co.uk/
https://arrowworks.co.uk/?utm_source=ebaymotorsgroup&utm_medium=classifieds&utm_campaign=emg

Seen a few decent examples, would just like to check if anyone has visited or purchased from them?

hi

have u looked on some of the Land Rover defender forums to see if there’s any for sale

must admit every time I’ve bought a vehicle have always checked the mot history and done a full Hpi check , been lucky as over the years I’ve learnt what to look for on certain land rovers, however when I bought my discovery 3 I didn’t know everything on what to look out for , so joined a discovery 3 forum and done a lot of research and asked plenty of questions

if ur still not sure of what to look for get an independent inspection done by either AA/ RAC or someone who knows that particular model very well

ref garages , indeed checked reviews on them online

Plse don’t think I’m trying to teach u how to suck eggs

Just hope that helps

Looked at your links.

The first 1 had some in your sort of price (although you haven't said) They even had quite a selection with Galvy chassis which is a good point. Some with a fair bit of paperwork history too:).
They are also only a up the road to you so could well be worth a visit, Not checked any of their reviews though.

I did notice they put a pic up of 1 with a wheel nut missing ;);) not good form in my book, but hey you need to get out and look at a few and even drive a couple, not sure what you are really expecting:).

What flavour do you want 90, 110 or 130 tipper, high cap, county on road off road lifted monster and then there is the double cab  given myself a headache now o_O

Defender 90 dont mind if 200/300
£10k
Will obviously need some work with my budget but looking for a good chassis and engine.
Dont mind on year if a late 80s/early 90s.

Defenders are a minefield, all that glitters is not always gold.
Try and remember just because they are a garage does not mean the car will be better than a private one.

I would say 10k will get you somehting very nice indeed.

Agreed, 10k would previously have got something very nice indeed, not so sure now the Defender 'price hike' pandemic is underway and every Tom, Dick and Harry is intent on making a quick buck in passing on their ropey old LR Defender

Depends on how old your knees are-)

Saw that one earlier - looks a decent one, mechanically sound - just needs a few tweaks.
Will keep it on the radar :)

Just spoke to him, his got a guy coming down tonight whos offered £5600!
Mechanically looks good - just needs some paintwork, front bumper looks about 2 inch out at the right hand side on one of the pics.

I think thats the way it is/will be now for a while, if you want it you have to buy it now before some other fecker does!
Tbf 5.6k is not the end of the world for that motor, plus wont be long and it will be mot/tax exempt, think its 40 yrs?

Boats seem to be the same.

Houses seem be the same.
