Bloody things ... My 1994 has the long thin ones, you need to pull them away from the wing and then twist the bulb and holder out...
The orginal ones were stuck on with double sided tape.
Not right IMO.
So after a friend of a friend pulled one of mine off (as he needed a T10 buld to test his lights) I decided to get some new ones, the originals were a bit manky, full of green and dirt etc.

The new ones arrived and I took off the eyebrows to get at the wiring, sorted that and cleaning up the inner wing, anti rust and galvafroid etc. marvelled at how one job turns into 6 ...

Then came to fit and realised that the two plastic (2.5mm) pins would be a trifle loose in the 7mm holes on the wing.
There does appear to be a 'Friction Bush - Side Indicator Installation' but at £21 each ..... yup .... I thought not.

After hunting around for a bit I found some 7mm OD tube and some 4mm OD tube that fitted into it and with a couple of layers of heatshrink a solution was found saving myself £84

@miktdish is your motor ex military?
Only wondering as my 85 had these and then changed on the TDIs

And you get a better pack of these…
<snip>

Not a military no, it's a bit of a bitsa to be honest, cobbled togerther (badly) by The Butchers of Hereford 4X4.
The offside wing is a TD5 with the square hole for the side repeaters and the nearside is a 200tdi wing, I think, which has the round hole.

I prefer the look of the older lamps too ... Cheers
