I know this has been asked before but links and pictures seem to have expired in previous threads.

Does anyone know where I can buy gutter mounts for a defender for a roof rack? Dont want to break the bank with them. Or, has anyone made their own and do you have pictures? Cant quite get it in my head how they would look.

I'm planning on welding up my own roof rack so hence the need for just gutter clamps.

Thanks!

sq tube welded to rack leg...threaded rod welded to angle...another bit of angle or flat strip welded to rack foot to sit in gutter...threaded rod slides up through sq tube angle catches under gutter nut on top of rod tighten down clamping gutter...

If you want some off the shelf ones brownchurch sell the clamps as replacement parts, same clamping method as pictured by @Flossie with tube welded to the leg. I bought three off them when I got my roof rack as they were missing and wanted them to match rather than make up my own.

I've just sent them an email to see what they've got and how much they are

they have diferant styles. the older style I have is literally a peice of angle iron with a threaded rod welded on, the newer ones are more shaped

If youv'e got the skill to weld up a roof rack the Brownchurch clamps should be a doddle to make they're not exactly hi-tech...

Very over complicated if you ask me.
I’ve just done some for my series and they are as snug as you can get.

Have look in the projects section.
“Inbetweeny roof bar project.
