Hi all,
Had my 96 Defender resprayed and it all looks lovely but now it wont run. It was in paint shop for about 3 weeks. I picked it up and drove the 2 miles home and seemed ok. Went out later that day and it felt as if it was missing then when it came to a hill I was down in second gear crawling along. My son and I had a look round it and found there was dodgy jubilee clip on intercooler hose allowing gas to escape thus reducing turbo pressure. EGR valve still fitted so ordered blanking kit, intercooler pipe etc bit oiled up so plan on removing and cleaning out.
Took back to paint shop this am for few touch ups and it was 15mph flat out with tons of blue smoke. Air filter an fuel filter appear ok. Any ideas? Cheers all

Blue smoke is burning engine oil, maybe the turbo has died. Is there any boost? If the turbo is leaking lots of oil and it does start spinning it may become self sustaining be careful.

Wammers,
At the weekend when we looked there was boost and the intercooler pipes gained pressure when revved. I just put pipes back temp to get to paint shop today so dont know if there was today but even downhill there was no acceleration.
