Defender Recall

Puma engines (used across many manufacturers) are recalled due to the possibility of the oil pump failing.

I work for a Citroen garage and we are doing a few of these on Relay vans

I've just had phone call from the dealer. Our Defender (2012) is being recalled by the manufacturer for a possible oil pump fault.

Does anyone know about this issue?

Found a thread on another web forum, the recall is for vehicles in the vin range LD405037 to 443988. I'm off to check my vin!!

Bugger - mine is in that range. On the bright side it needs an oil change, so hopefully get a free one (again, last one was on account of a faulty oil cooler).

Sorry to resurrect this thread - but has anyone else had a recall? My vin also falls into this category, I'm going to contact the dealer and make enquiries? I'm leaking oil so a good opportunity!
