The end of the dipstick has broken off and presumably fallen into the sump. Anybody had similar issue and how did you resolve.

I have drained the oil and flushed with engine flush but no sign of the missing part. Any other ideas ?

Thanks

Drop the sump and retrieve it..

It won't get past the strainer, still wouldn't want it in there though/

Machine Mart do a range of magnetic tools for a few quid which will go through the sump plug hole and probe about. Might work.
I'll check a dipstick tomorrow and see if the end is magnetic.

I checked one this morning. The end is metal, but NON magnetic. Swaged on to the bendy steel rod, might be aluminium or some other alloy. But definitely non magnetic.
