Hi

I own a Defender 90 tdci 2008 which I have owned for 8 years. Its a hard top with side windows and rear seats. I use it for towing, and low speed local driving here in the New Forest. I tow a 12ft ifor williams tipping trailer, and a heavy sailing dinghy for launching.

I really need to off road ability for contruction sites but I am looking for a bit more comfort.

Your opinions please. I am looking at the great prices of 2007 Ranger Rover Vogues with around 100k miles, in lovely condition. I am very tempted as, considering my low milage use, I don't think I will notice much worse economy per year.

I have also been told that the vogue is a great car, way better than the sport & discovery.

I reckon I can sell my defender, buy the range rover, and possibly have some change.

Am I being ridiculous, or is it a worthy plan?

Thanks

A range rover for building sites ? Even with high mileage I'd stay well clear. The Defender is repairable at lower cost. More street cred too towing an Ifor W tipping trailer.
