Defender on disco gear hybrid

Right guys. Am I correct after some search. If I get a new galvanised chassis from richards and a recon defender gearbox from aw transmissions and use my 200 tdi disco engine transfer box and axles and steering power units will I keep my disco reg number ?

I dont see how as the bodyshell has a vin and you wont have that will you ? also its not a replacement chassis its a defender chassis JMHO

The points thing will confirm it , sure someone will have better knowledge on the points basis than i do

you can do it but it will need an sva an you will need proof of were you got the defender panels from an not just a hand written receipt of joe blogs.. someone done it last year in one of the landy mags
