Defender lights on and won't switch off

Hi All,

So my alternator went off to be repaired and was re fitted by the garage. Since then my rear side/brake lights have stayed on ( LED conversion) and when I have the brake pedal depressed the ignition will not cut the engine.

I have searched here and see that one said to check the exciter wire, this is fine and I disconnected and reconnected could hear engine change pitch.

The light units look ok and are pretty new, harness to them look good and so do the earths in my very limited mechanical knowledge

Any ideas?

Yes, get it back to the garage! Rebuilt alternator? Did the garage get it rebuilt?
