Hi everyone. I have looked everywhere for a post on changing the defender interior/panel light switch to two seperate switches but cannot find anyone who has done this.
1990 110 pickup. The switch I am talking about is the one just above the drivers right knee, nect to the hazard switch.
What I want to do is to turn the 3 position switch into two seperate switches, IE: one for the interior light and a seperate one for turning on/off the panel lights.

Has anyone ever done this????? and if so, can you please let me know what wire goes to each switch etc.

Thanx in advance to anyone that can help

Unless my switch is broken (which would not surprise me) it should be a three position switch. I will check later but it should be an easy case of working out which is the common wire and bridging off there

be careful switch may feed panel lights from fuse supply usually brown switching to red/white to panel lights but the interior may have purple direct to interior lamp unit and the switch grounds the interior lamp to earth so if it has four connections it possible done this way a image of the cables entering the switch would be a help

Hi and thnks for the help but I have now managed to move the dwitches from under my knees to the mud console. Also managed to change the switch from 3 position to two seperate switches and still bale to kill the panel lights whenever i want.

"Case Closed" until I start blowing all the fuses or have a fire.........ha, damned land rovers!!!!
