Defender indicator bother

Hey all,
The problem i have is that my indicators and hazards on my defender 90, 200tdi on an L reg, keep fusing. the problem initially started when the washer jet hose came off and soaked the electrics...very long drying process. Next the relay went, so replaced that. then the hazard switch, which i fixed with advice from a land rover friend, who told me to scotch clip the wire to the indicators to the power to the hazard switch. works fine except indicators work with ignition off. Now the problem i have is that the fuses for the hazards keep blowing, even though they are 5 amps more powerful than suggested. Please can anyone help. i know it is most likely to be a short, but there is nowhere behind the fusebox to suggest where this short might me, and help would be great,

you need a decent auto electrician and not the muppet who told you to bodge your wiring with a scotch block??


Never ever ever uprate the fuses thet are there for a reason. sort the short out puttiing higher rated fuses in will set fire to your landy

take all your indicators off and clean the contacts
