I am looking at the possibility of taking my LR Defender County Station Wagon 110 Td5 (2005) to Mexico and using it there indefinitely.

However, since the vehicle isn't sold there I'm concerned about getting spare parts as and when they might be needed, and repairs.

I'd be really glad to hear thoughts and advice on this from any Defender owner in Mexico, or the owner there of any other Landrover.

Depending on where you are in Mexico you could always nip across the border to America, Land Rovers are sold there and I'm sure getting parts wouldn't be a problem. This however poses the questions of VISAS but you could always make friends with someone in Mexico and if you trust them enough, send them over for you?

They obviously have main stealers! being a TD5 it's fairly new and if it was mine I'd be going to the main stealer

The last time the defender was sold in the usa was 1994.

They may carry a few parts, but i doubt it.

The made some special ones with Roll cages over in 1994 because the saftey laws were tightening up. Now, they have no hope of sending any over because it would never get past the saftey laws... They only way that people get newer ones are is make them a ringer and turn it into a series 3 or a 90/110 over 25 years old, Because they are exempt from Emissions and safety ect... Fecking joke with the amount of polluting cars they have over there.
