Hello all,
I took off the door card today on my drivers side door, to see what would need to be done to fix it up.
Bottoms and sides aren't too bad, I welded up a crack in the upper cross member that the inner waist seal clips onto but my issue is with the section that the outer waist seal attaches to. This section has totally rotted away, does anybody know what this section should look like. Is it a formed piece or is it just a piece of 1mm flat steel?
I just cant seem to find anything to give me a clue as to how it should look.
Cheers

I have the same issue with a drivers door i purchased
the top panel behind where the push down catch fits ( the one that always cracks )

I emailed William at SP landrovers a while back to see if they had plans in place to get the panels made he said they were looking into it

if you look at discomania rebuild pics of the door you can see the rott on top of the door

I saw that thread, amazing work , I might have to strip the passenger door down and see if that looks any better and see if it can point me in the right direction for some self fab work. Seems odd that you can buy the panel that cracks but not the one that rots on the other side.

Can't you check out the passenger door ? If it's in better condition you should be able to see what shape the drivers door should be...

Had a look at the passenger side today and although there is some metal there the section dropped off when I removed the rubber waist.

I've sent the pics to Ronnie at YRM so if he has a solution I will report back.

Can't upload pics from my phone I'll have to do it later.

YRM will have this part available mid Feb to March.

Top company! I'll live with my rattles till then it's not like I haven't got anything else to do on the old girl.

The offending parts for completeness.
