Hi need help, I have a 1990, 200tdi, 110, LHD.
I have done I think all the checks and I am coming to the concussion that my front axle might be bent.
Wheel bearings replaced, replaced bushes, Replaced track rod ends. straighten steering bar. Tracking checked.
However my front wheel at the bottom tows out I think is the term. The bottom of the wheel sticks out more than at the top of the wheel. 1.13 degree on one side and 1.degree the other side.
Which result in the front tyres wearing more on the inside like they would if the tracking was out.
Am I right in thinking that there is no difference between a 110 and a 90 front axle or between a LHD or RHD.
My other concern is how do you know if the axle you are buying is also not bent.
I was thinking of going for a Sailsbury type in the hope that there would be less chance of them being bent. They seem to be double the cost but hopefully it should be something that you fit only once.
Also any recomendations who might do a good job. I live in France but would go over to the UK to get it done like I recently did to get a rear cross member done.
What are your thoughts guys.

90 and 110 axles are basically the same but calipers different ,300tdi all axles are the same disco defender rrc ,very difficult to tell if axles is bent without chrome balls off and straight edges used to measure ,td5 axles are either or lhd or rhd earlier axles require swivel housing with single steering arm swapping for double to make it either or

Thanks for the info jamesmartin, guess I will just have to risk getting another front axle and trying it out. I like the sound of these Sailsbury axles, just wander if they are worth the extra money tho.

if weight is no issues there the kiddies what price were you given ,hobsons ltd used to have them but dont know what price or still avaiable i would fit if making a forever truck

Billing I was quoted £650 including all the bits and front prop shaft.
I don't see myself getting rid of the Defender as it is ideal around here in the French countryside. Underneath its in good shape. Doors are pitting a little in places. Bulkhead is good, just had the rear x member done. I am planning on doing a Morocco trip when it settles down over there. I have just seen on ebay a brand new front axle for £595.

there was a guy at billing asking around that price for a front salisbury with a locker fitted. Think it was still there at the end so you never know it may be at the next show
