Hello

Does anyone have 2 front doors for sale for a 90?

I need to get hold of 2, and Ebay is not being helpful!

Thanks

Talking of push buttons - #1 son dropped a lump of timber on the n/s rear
door handle with entirely predictable results - when the universal door
supplier pops by I wonder if s/he could have a ferret around for a
replacement :)

I guess that most of us with an early 90's 90 need new doors. I've seen
some adverts for just the bottom part of the door, does anybody have any
experience of just fixing the part that rusts so badly? I presume that
you need to cut off the rusty section and weld the new door bottom on in
it's place.

Regards,

Dave.

I NEED 2 doors, as the ones on my 90 are as bent as that **** from big
brother after it fell into a ditch a few weeks back... :(

aesthetically and functionally, the older lift-type handles are better,
mind. Probably not quite so good for security...

aye - and not so good for fitting to my door which very definately expects
the push-button type.

Well there's a story.

Elephant's approved repairer classed it as a total loss. I managed to
blag a copy of the quote from them. £4500 to get it back on the road,
and that was without replacing the bulkhead. They HAVE to use OEM parts
- some stupid policy, so a roof was £1000, Doors were £400 each. It soon
added up.

Anyhow, I told them that I did not agree with the repair costs, and
convinced them that I could get a cheaper quote using second hand parts,
so its currently at Rogers of Bedford waiting for just that. If it is
cheap enough they will authorise the repair of it.

If they still don't, ive got 2 options - unless anyone else knows different!

Buy it back, for 16% of the settlement value, and get it repaired myself
or get someone to repair it, or let it go and run with the money - which
i dont really want to do.

If i do buy it back, it gets a class D write off tag on it. Does anyone
know if this can be removed once its passed an MOT?

buy back and repair it yourself ;) ITs a chance to do all the things
you wanted to do to it.

I can't imagine that when you come to sell it, the fact that it has
been written off in the past should affect things for too many buyers.
Its a landrover..

Once you get your new ones, i'll take the old doors off your hands for
a few beer tokens (presuming that they can be beaten straight enough
to fit in the holes on my 2A - I'm not after pristine, just something
that will fill the holes and flap around less than series doors!)

Just thought, there are some pics here -
http://public.fotki.com/marksolesbury/my_land_rovers/bollocks/
Password is bugger if it asks!

They are not too bent, just the tops that have slightly taken a beating.
Better than no doors at all!

Class D you don't have to do owt its not recorded with the VIC scheme
http://www.vosa.gov.uk/vosa/carlgvowners/vehicleidentitycheck/vehicleidentitycheckscheme.htm#P6_769
negotiate hard with the insurers query the money they are offering then
offer to take the cash provided you can get a good deal to buy back the
motor- then rebuild it remember tho' HPI will register it as damaged
repaired which on muppetry motors may affect the resale value but I doubt a
landy buyer would be bothered
