Hi everyone, new here so be nice!
My drivers door has stopped opening from both inside and using the push button on the outside. I have looked inside the door, and from what I can see the problem appears to be this. There is a square peg connected to the push button, which pushes against a lever, which in turn releases the door mechanism. However, the sping on this lever has lost its spring, and is not retracting to rest back on the square peg. hence I have a very weak resistance when pushing the button.
Any ideas as to what to do, I have WD40'd it, but the spring is dead, am I able to get a replacement spring, or do I need a new mechanism?
Sorry if this doesnt make a whole load of sense!
any help would be appreciated!
