Defender - Disco Transfer box (Price quote)

I am just awaiting a quote for a swap of a Defender 200tdi transfer box to a Disco 200tdi transfer box. My current transfer box is leaking so I am getting a Disco one in for the higher gear ration as I rarely tow.

He already has the Disco transfer box in hand but what would you guys estimate a fair quote is for the tranny and the labour of fitting it?

He will probably allow half a day to change it. Factor in half a day of his labour cost and some fluids on top of that.

Local garage by me charged my mate £50 2 1/2 hours labour

I've been offered a straight swap for my defender t box as well for a disco td5 box. Is it worth doing ? I never tow

ive got a disco 1.2 transfer box in my 200tdi 110. It works well for me and my driving style. I have no problems with it. Even loaded with all my camping gear on a hill start its fine. If I ever have to pull something heavy and struggle to pull away ill simply drop it in low range to pull away.
