I have found whilst driving on the motorway that I have a blind spot on my '07 Defender. It is particularly apparant when using the passenger mirror to pull into the slow lane from the middle lane. If someone is overtaking on the inside I can't always see them. My Defender is the van type without windows so I don't have the option of looking over my shoulder. I have bought a little stick on mirror from Halfords but it seems too small to be effective. Can anyone suggest a large mirror that is compatible with the Defender. I have seen some vans around that have a mirror in two quite large parts and I think that one of these may be suitable if I can find one of a compatible type.

Best wishes,

You can get larger mirrors from the likes of paddocks etc if ye want, but ah just tend to look in me rear view mirror quite a lot and see what's comin' up behind me... and use the side mirrors aswell;) :D

If someone is overtaking on the inside (undertaking) then either they are driving like a tw4t in which case they deserve a bit of a crunch or you are hogging the fast lane, in which case you do! Most vans have a bllind spot, get a big fook off "i can't drive properly" mirror or just be a bit more careful!

Or the middle lane! :D

if you position the blindspot mirrors properly they work fine but they keep falling off and i have tried everything 4 months is the record with locktight. Ive given up and just do what busterbus says.

Defender................Outside Lane..................Overtaking
There's a group of words you don't see together very often!
yeah but his "overtaking" was referring to other cars UNDERtaking, which means either there's room for him to move over to let the faster traffic past or they are driving like nutters, either way it's bad driving so can be avoided just by driving carefully!

i concur. I use the 2" stick on ones from wilkinsons. work a treat. if you angle them down and out, you can see your rear wheel and sills too... great for laning and avoiding trees, rocks, ramblers and BMW's which may jump out at any given moment :D

Know what you mean Treworgey 90, back in the days when I used to drive a 70s petrol lightweight I had to pull over now and again to let the tailback of cyclists past! I have now treated myself to 07 Defender and it will sit at 70 quite happily.

Best wishes,

Paul

PS thanks for all the replies, think I'll try Paddocks

just keep the flicker on for a few seconds then start edging into the lane if the ****er is still in the blind spot hell signal you some how, dont worry too much he has brakes and a soft car, just hope its not an artic up your arse....
