Defender 90 TD5 accelerator issue

Hi, I have a defender TD5 with an accelerator issue, the engine light comes on then the pedal doesn't do anything, does anyone have any ideas,...

Had this on a Disco TD5 caused by low battery voltage. Worked fine after I charged the battery.

I'm afraid I've spotted this thread a bit late. But a short while ago some of us were discussing this very problem

In my case it appeared to be deterioration in the wiring between the accelerator and the ECU, but of course, there may be other causes.

I used to lose throttle totally on mine in the rain. Felt like burning the fcuker when it did it on the M4 on a wet and cold Saturday on way to work.
I did exactly same as Mr Aura. I couldn’t be arsed chasing it. I got the correct ecu pins and a new throttle plug and made a new loom. Totally fixed it
