Hi,

Ive got a 2004 defender 90 td5 county.

Ive just removed some old rear bumperettes and ive got patches where the paint colour has faded where they were installed.

I want to respray my whole rear bumper to tart it up and make it last longer than the normal rusting ones.

Not going to go to the extent of removing it just want to spray it whilst its on my truck with all the tow bar connected etc.

Its in excellent condition so all it will need is cleaning down its rust free already.

Does anyone know the exact landrover paint colour for the rear bumper and has anyone got any suggestions?

thanks guys

You mean rear cross member?

It's just painted black. Easiest is just stone chip it, it'll protect it a lot better. Or if you want a nice shiny finish spray it black with normal paint.

Have you got a picture of yours? Does it give a nice smooth finish

Sorry, travelling for two days so not on me

Yes it leaves a smooth finish and no brush marks - the rustoleum flows really well

Think I used Satin Black on mine

Have a look at aaron's rebuild thread - quite a few pictures of various components he's painted

Would you go for the brush on rustoleum or a spray can?

How does it compare to black hammerite

The brush on rustoleum is good stuff and you can't see the brush marks.
Spray can means masking up. Which is more time for no better result.
Personally I don't rate hammerite.
