defender 90 project???

hello all i have owned two defenders now and have came to the stage where i want to build my own from scratch. i have purchased a 90 chassis and have a power plant along with most suspension parts mainly new. i was just wondering if anyone knows a cheaper way of getting a v5 for it apart from buying one for 2 grand mainly just for the v5 or have i just got to bite the bullet?????

Errm I'm a bit confused. whats wrong with contacting DVLA and asking for a V5 for the vehicle when it's completed??

I think you need to go to the DVLA website Mudtrucker and have a good look. From what I recall it works on a sort of points system. If you have the V5 for the doner veh/engine and you replace like for like ie chassis, body etc its fairly straight forward. They are very helpful..... how do you work out 2k ransom?

O. maybe i should have thought more into this. ill get myself in touch with the dvla then just wasnt sure bout regestering new vehicles. thanks.
