Hey there, i am performing a rebuild on a 1987 defender 90. I want a more modern look to the car and so when it comes to the interior i want it to look as good as it can for a landy, wondering if anyone had any ideas on some great looking interior items? i.e. seats or general modifications/upgrades? I am on a budget but will spend a little more if needed. Thanks
Miles

Thanks i've seen the LaSalle items and they look good quality thank you, any ideas for seats? and re-Texpis does it matter if my 90 is not a Td5, does the dash still fit or do you have to modify it to fit?

Later model dashes look good.

Dash pods are available from Raptor, mud etc

You can buy seats from lots of places: exmoor, sams trim etc. However lots of people on here have utilsed seats from other land rovers.

Have a look at members photos for ideas.

The later dash fitted fine I had to drill 2 holes. With my conversion I had a bit of wiring to do to get rid of the convoy lights, I also fitted the later dash warning lights and I used the td5 hazard switch. There is no need to do most of this wiring the rest of the dash will fit fine.

There are lots of threads on this subject. I got mine from Sam's trim, and they are spot on (pics in my gallery).

Okay thank you, anyone have any preference on good looking and comfortable seats?

I have Mitsubishi evo 4 seats in mine, fit ok but I was thinking of going for some height adjustable seats because the landrover seatbox is slowped down at the rear, giving my evo seats a low ride! I have since fitted 2" plastic blocks to the rear seat mountings. I know quite a few lads go for rover seats as they are a cheap alternative to recaro type seats (less than £100 for a pair of half leather rover zr seats!). Get on ebay, you'll be suprised.

fitted disco seats to mine, cheap and easy to fit with a couple of home made runners.

loads of seats will fit, but rover, subaru, mitsi and volvo tend to be most common

I fitted FK seats off ebay. Took a gamble, vinyl excellent quality and overall very happy. You won't find anything else for the cost and easy to fit.

I've got a 2010 XS I'm kitting out expedition styley and both front seats are coming out in the next week or so. Cars only got 10K on the clock and the seats are mint. Standard part leather XS trim. Actually heated not that you'll be bothered by that I guess unless you can rig up some way to power them. In fact I've got shed loads of stuff I've stripped off it or upgraded sitting around the garage now. Probably be listing it all on here at some point. XS chequer plated side bars as well not that they are interior upgrades.

Its all definitely going. Its just a matter of getting the replacements delivered. Should be in the next 4 weeks.

i opted for a rangey rear seat up front, comfy with arm rests and a bench seat can be so useful ;)
