any ideas as to why she keeps cutting out!!! yes its a td5, and the symptoms are sometimes dead when you turn the ignition on as in the lights are on but no fuel pump running and the yellow engine light is on!! and she spins over, also when driving the yellow light comes on and she cuts out.
to remedie this a swift kick to the seat box and she starts up again and the same applies to when stationary kick the box and you here the fuel pump start and the light goes out!! .
i have changed the wiring loom due to oil contamination , i have cleaned all the contacts in the the ECU under the seat .
sticky relay perhaps ,any input would be great!!

Either remove and re-fit or wiggle ALL the fuses and relays under the seat. It is a commomn problem on TD5's.

I had the exact same problem with my 2005 90 and luckily whilst the 90 was still under the cover of land rover technicians. They came out to see me at home and the symptoms were engine firing and not starting and temperature gauge going over to hot when the engine was cold. The source of this... all down to a loose relay under the seat. The problem relay is the middle of the 3 under seat relays - a 40 amp (yellow in most 2004-08 builds) behind the larger 60 amp relay. Just take out, pinch up the connections and give it a clean and it will be fine for another 50,000 miles.
