Bonnet cable snapped on our Defender 90, just at the clamping bolt. Bought a brand new one and have fitted it but can't get it set up right. Have not managed to find the securing clip under the expansion tank or the one on the underside of the bonnet platform yet as it was getting dark. Outer cable at the mo is just secured in the cab. Would this effect operation ? I think the problem is the length of the inner cable at the securing clamp, should the outer cable be right up to the clamp ? Getting frustrated at having to take the grill off all the time !

Had a sort of similar issue with my 110 - got bored with trying to fish the thing so ended up with the bonnet handle / cable to the side of the front grill. It works well and also meant I could remove the cradle in the foot well - thus, no more painful shins!

Mebbe picking up the wrong problem guys, I have the clamp that secures the cable at the catch, was wondering how much inner cable has to be fed through it ? Also the outer sheath at present is only fastened in the cab at the bracket, have yet to locate the other two fixings noted in the official LR handout, i.e under the expansion tank and the bonnet platfrom, cheers.
