defender 90 2.5 petrol timing/tuning

Hi guys,

I have a 2.5 petrol 90. I think the timeing may be out but im not sure how would i check this?

Also it seems to be drinkin alot of oil and a little bit of blue smoke when accelarating. I have been told that this might be the head gasket but im not to sure.

It doesnt pull very well either, is this common for this type of engine?

not sure about the timing mate.try the search box at the top could help you out?if its the head gasket you should be useing quite alot of water too,also u you should have a mayo type gunk in the filler cap area.but i too have a 2.5 petrol engine in my 90.runs sweet ,pulls well and has plenty of power on acceleration,although i change the engine oil and spark plugs quite regular,

it is using a fair bit of water but no mayo type gunk in filler cap. what MPG do you get out of yours?

does approx 20 mile to the gallon on a run out,just changed oil and plugs again last week,so running sweet and ready for winter lol..
