Always pretty dubious about the claims of doing these types of things, but actually it has dramatically reduced the amount of black smoke when booting it, its almost nothing now

EGR - no doubt about it, feeding exhaust INTO the engine is not good, clean air is, nice clean diesel burn now.

We have a VW Jetta in our fleet and when I'm driving it I pull the vac line off the EGR and plug it with something, usually a .22 case it tells me the emissions system has a fault and to go to a garage immediately (really?) but I then drive it and get 8-10mpg more! That is without a word of a lie. I then plug it back in and the light goes off within 5 miles.

10mpg more, that's quite significant just under 20% better, well I tell you less fuel for more miles EGR or not is go to be better for the environment.

Friend of mine bought a new tractor about 3 years ago, it was the latest Euro spec engine, used move diesel than his older tractors and that's progress!

Google EGR and California, where it all stemmed from - Californians are hypocrites - they want all their big engined cars but moan about the pollution.

By the way did you clean out the intake manifold, mine was down about a good 30% in diameter with soot.

Problem with fb I think

Gave it a wash to get rid of all the crappy road salt, obligatory pics

Some bits arrived

Oil Pressure switch for when I install the oil pressure dial. Figured might aswell be worth changing at the same time



And my fix for my sagging roof lining, a fibreglass version! I was pleasantly surprised at how good the finish is actually, it replicates a natural fibre look

Made a start on fitting the new fibreglass headlining.

Started off by ripping out all the old stuff, unfortunately my attempts to recover the existing stuff failed as all the cloth came away and was just hanging, looked like I just had a sheet stuck to my roof



Cut some holes in the new one, courtesy light and alarm sensors





Test fit of the light



Then the speaker holes





Its actually up in the landrover now, albeit without any ancillaries attached, haven't got any pics yet

Finally found some time to finish the head lining install.

Cut the light bit out for the rear secion



Then got fitting, some after shots

Looks good but shame that rear section is like a " one design fits all" with the cut outs for the roof windows.

IS it from lassalle or the ones simonites are selling, looks nice.

Im pretty sure lasalle sell them without alpine cut outs if thats what you need. Just be sitting down when younask the price..

Yeah these were about 380 cheapest roof lining option I could see

So for various reasons this job has spilled into being split over a few weekends, but finally fitted my oil pressure gauge today
