Hi again..the clutch has been changed to gether with fork (which was bent)..also slave and master cylinders... On changing gears they catch.
When engine not running, without touching the clutch pedal, the gears pass smoothly.. any ideas would be welcome.
Kind regards

maybe the bent clutch fork was bent to stop the gears from grating

i.e the clutch isnt now fully disengaging ?

or you have air in the system and thats an easy one to solve

Hi..almost certain that the clutch plate has been installed the wrong way round... hence not able to select reverse gear
will keep you posted.
Regards

I did that recently (on @Tirran 's car), in my case it was a bit more serious than yours.
Wit the engine running I couldn't select any gear.
No drive and it slid in and out of all gears ...

I could start the car in second with the clutch depressed and the handbrake on but the drag, without brakes, would move the car.

Hi everyone..Update... the vehicle is owned by the cousin of my friend, who does not speak English... The new clutch is made by Valeo...Everything taken apart again....Spigot bearing was mangled..now replaced...the new clutch fork showed it was catching a little...Filed a minimum amount... The gearbox was lined up with guides to assist... Back together all now working perfectly...As a note..the clutch plate could only go in one way otherwise it would touch flywheel bolts...
Kind regards to everyone who has helped and given advice.
