OK, just been chatting to the MOT guy next to me and he says he can't test my 110.
My MOTs not due for a couple of months, but seeing as I thought any car station could do it, thought id better have a looksee...
Soooo, what are the restrictions on a defender 110 so I know where to look, or if anyone knows a test station in the LS19/21 area I can get me 110 MOTd that'd be great

he said it wouldn't fit and was overweight not sure why when hes just done a sedona.

just looked up the classifications, and it still seems to be a class 4 to me,

Class 4 Cars with seating for up to 8 passengers, 3 wheeled cars over 450kg (unladen), motorhomes, dual purpose vehicles, quads, taxis and ambulances for up to 12 passengers, vehicles for public service and private hire with seating for up to 8 passengers.

Class 5 All private passenger vehicles and ambulances with seating for 13 plus.

Class 7 Goods vehicles between 3000kg and 3500kg Design Gross Weight

mine comes under class 4 cos its only got 7 passenger seats (only one rear bench)

unless he just dunt want my landy leaking all over his nice clean MOT bays!!
TBH, he doesnt do many landy MOTs, which I thought was strange, seeing as most of the Farmers round here (and lots of em) come to him for their tyres for both their fender, and their tratters, trailer etc.

It's a class 7 if it's a van as its plate is 3050 kgs, mot class 4 testers can only do up to 3000kgs unless it's got windows and seats fitted in the rear and there for dual purpose. County should be fine for a class 4 if your current mot is a class 4 take it with you and it will be fine. If he doesn't do landys very often make sure he keeps it off the rolling road for the break test!

Where abouts are you, someone's might suggest a landy friendly garage near by. I had a similar problem at a large tyre fitting place where they had to phone DOT to check that they could test it but they defo can as a class 4. Also your v5 should say class 4

thatas what I thought to start with, but my 110CSW is lighter than the Kia Sedona he was doing for me at the time.
fender 110 csw 2041 kerb, 3050 gross
Sedona 2200 kerb about 3000 gross IIRC

not sure, might grab him again and ask him, he was busyish today so didnt keep him.
