Hi,

Just a quick question on a problem I seem to have and only noticed it yesterday while driving back from Boston, Lincolnshire.

I noticed that the heating wasn't getting hot, well it was but only if I floored it and as soon as I came of the power it would go back to being cold, so anyway today I checked coolant level and fair to say it was basically empty so I topped it up, went for a little drive to heat it all up and the heating was working and staying hot without thrashing the engine. Checked for level again as I know sometimes it goes down a little and when I checked it, had gone down again to only being about a quarter full which I thought was a little to much but anyway filled it up again and drove over to the old mans house about 25 miles away and thought I'd check again, yet again gone down to half full now.

A little concerned that it is going down so bloody quickly, no leaks, anywhere and no smell in the cab.

Anybody got any thoughts on what it could be or experienced it themselves?

It's a 2013 station wagon.

Thanks in advanced guys.

Get your head gasket checked, if your losing coolant and there's no leak then that would be my priority. Is there any oil in your water, or a white sludge in your oil.?!

How to does the power feel in your truck, just as responsive as ever or is there is small loss. Are you absolutely certain there are no leaks, give everything a good clean and fill the old girl up and retighten everything and then go back and inspect everything.

Aye I checked for white sludge in the oil and nope nothing wrong in there and for power it feels the same as it ever did. Got it booked in at Hunters landrover to have it checked but as you can imagine I'm a little concerned.

Don't under what it could be but if it is the head gasket then it is a very recent issue.

I'll put a thread out if i find out what it is just in case it helps anyone else with the same issue.

Thanks for a reply.

Definitely no leaks, no loss in power and filled it up ready to head back from the old mans so going to check when I get back home and I'll let you know if it did end up going down again.

Thanks again for the reply and information Landyfox. Appreciate it.

No problem mate, to be honest I would put my money on a small minuscule leak or some splt/crack in a pipe that's obscured etc. if you are concerned re the head, I'd recommend you do the sniffer test, I paid £32+Vat of eBay. I felt a lot more reassured following the test.

Is there any sign that the landys overheating.?!

Aye I will look into that, thanks again.

Nope no sign of overheating, stays at the same level on the gauge all the time.

I'm quite interested in finding out what the problem could be so will definitely put a new thread up about it.

Thanks again mate.
