What is a Decat Pipe ...... how do you fit one ...... and do modified ones really make a difference to a 2.0TD Freelander? You can get them from a bloke called Roverron, or off e-bay for £25 wondred if they are any good?

Anyone tried one?:)

No but roverron does know what he is talking about. Look up the MGrover forum. Some of the guys on there are gettin near 200bhp on the dino from a 2.0litre 'L' series. Or sos they say.

Its a straight through pipe - does not have the gold and platinum fins / gauze's which change the emissions into less harmful gases.

I used one on my previous car - made the car slightly noisier (exhaust wise), but it did seem to go better. (Prob got about 5 or 8 BHP increase as I also had a full stainless exhaust system and K&N Air filter).

Steve

i removed the cat element on mine (td4), it was looking quite chocked, if i get time tomorrow i will post a pic
the engine breathes so much better with it removed, and noise levels are about the same
